Before the grass will grow up, the place is ruled by small Radunculus, Ficaria verna. I have a special place in my heart for these kinds of determinded small plants, who have their own rules about where they are supposed to grow. It is hard to find any downsides about this little flower. The light green leaves grows before any weed manages to come through and after blooming the whole plant vanishes under the ground. The little ranunculus waits the next Spring in tiny ant egg-like tubers which don’t disturb the other plants at all.

Kevättähdet on ihania. Haaveilen että löytäisin näiden sipuleita suurpakkauksen, ja saisin koko etupihan nurmikon kukkimaan taivaansinisenä. Sipulikukkien olemassaololle puutarhassani olisi eduksi, jos niitä olisi myynnissä keväisin juuri kun ne ovat kukkineet. Syksyllä usein energiat menevät kaikkeen muuhun eikä puutarhalle tahdo riittää niin paljon aikaa ja energiaa kuin keväisin. Jatkan silti unelmoimista.

Little spring stars, Scilla sect. Chionodoxa, are so lovely! I am dreaming about a lawn full of sky blue stars at Spring time. It would be much better for the bulb flowers in my garden, if the bulbs were sold at Spring time right after blooming. In the Autumn there are so many other urgent matters that I hardly have time or energy to think much about the garden. I keep dreaming though.
